How we make Tea Notes

Our editorial standards.

Every claim deserves context. OngTeh is an independent tea-learning website, not a medical practice.

Our purpose

Tea Notes helps readers make everyday drink choices while understanding the limits of evidence. Articles distinguish tea leaves from botanical infusions, identify caffeine clearly, and keep taste advice separate from health claims.

We cite public resources such as NCCIH, the FDA, NHS, CDC and Singapore’s Health Promotion Board when relevant. Links let readers check our interpretation, but citation alone does not mean independent medical review.

How articles are prepared

OngTeh prepares these explanations using editorial research assistance and checks major medical and nutrition statements against the references listed on each page. Material is general information, not individual clinical guidance. Articles have not been independently clinically peer-reviewed; no medical professional or expertise is invented or implied.

Where research tests capsules, supplements or extracts rather than brewed tea, we say so. A traditional use is described as tradition, not as proof of a health benefit. Pages carry a research-review date only when substantive fact-checking occurred.

Corrections and updates

Research develops. If a primary source changes, relevant recommendations and limitations should be rechecked. Readers may flag errors or request a correction by emailing woo@siaoah.com and identifying the page and statement.

If advertising is introduced, it must not override factual accuracy or source selection. Paid placements must be identifiable and separate from editorial guidance.

Health and safety boundaries

We do not give diagnoses, prescription advice, substitute treatments or advice to discontinue medicines. Pregnant people, children, people with allergies, and anyone taking medicines should discuss new herbs or concentrated supplements with a qualified professional when needed.

OngTeh does not claim clinical accreditation or external medical peer review. Articles are for adults seeking general food and beverage information.

Discoverability and ads

Pages are designed to answer a real question with sourced information, not simply to repeat keywords. No advertising is currently embedded in the website package. If advertising is added later, it should remain secondary to content and comply with applicable publisher and privacy rules.

For urgent health concerns, seek prompt medical assistance rather than relying on a website.
